Cape Town, South Africa @ Isoflow
“With celebratory vibes in the air, multitudes of fresh popcorn, a fun photo booth, and great speakers, we celebrated winning an the Silver Bucket trophy at this month’s event. Our event logo (above) is by one of our talented designers at Isoflow, Neal Hampton.
The evening’s talks branched away from the usual illustration and animation content presented at previous meetups and they did not disappoint! Anita Iles, Operations Manager and UX Specialist at Isoflow talked about object orientated user experience design. Jon Edwards from Yuppiechef shared a case study and the different ways they’ve approached and thought about design as their business has scaled and developed over time.
We always have a little competition or two to add some excitement to the night and this time we held two, based around the Silver Bucket Award. Participants could try their hand at sketching an illustration for our analog playoff, with attendees voting for their favourite at the end of the night.”

Sydney, Australia @ Atlassian
“We had a great Dribbble x Stocksy Meetup in Sydney at the Atlassian office. A week before the event the RSVPs spiked and it looked like Sydney was really due for a Dribbble Meetup. The Atlassian team was amazing in coordinating the space and beer! As 6pm came, some of Sydney’s designers started making their way to the 6th floor and pizza had arrived too. About a half hour later it looked like we were pretty close to capacity as the room started looking pretty full. The event was an attempt to kick start the communication between all the designers in Sydney and for us to get to know them too. There definitely was a lot of networking going on. Lots of people shared their Dribbble accounts and business cards. We gave away $500 in Stocksy credit as well as 3 Drubbbler Pro accounts. For an outsider it was amazing to see how strong a community Dribbble has brought together here.”
Bhubaneswar, India @ KIIT University
“The second Bhubaneswar Dribbble Meetup was blast. We had 40 attendees who participated in a product design session and a app design competition for Smart City. We divided in to 10 groups of 4 participants and gave them various problem statements regarding smart life in a smart city and asked them to come up with a solution—either a mobile app design or a website design. We decided three groups as winners of the contest.”
Barcelona, Spain @ MOB
“We had about 25 designers at the Barcelona Dribbble Meetup and we did a creative challenge called ‘The Paperclip Challenge,’ which consisted in creating all sorts of icons using only paperclips, a key/scissors and tape. We did it at a co-working space called MOB.
At the end we all voted on a winner. The cocktail icon (pictured above) by Brazilian designer Karina Goto won. It was fun to get crafty with things and people appreciated taking a break from digital thinking and getting back to basics.
Next month we’re doing our Barcelona Dribbble Meetup on July 21st. We’ll be screening InVision’s ‘Design Disruptors’ documentary!”
See more photos from the meetup. In advance of the July Barcelona Dribbble Meetup, Paula gave us a tour of the design scene in Pep Rally.
Toronto, ON, CA @ Brainstation Toronto
“Toronto’s Dribbble Meetup, cohosted by digital innovation agency Konrad Group, and tech bootcamp BrainStation, brought the industry together for a lighthearted evening of fun and games. Toronto creatives matched wits in a fiercely competitive design trivia match, or prototyped wearable devices using model magic. Winners walked away with Quantum Coffee gift cards—and since everyone who came was a winner, many many gift cards were given out.
Big thanks to our sponsors, StickerMule, Shopify, and InVision for supporting such an incredible evening!”
Edmonton, AB, Canada @ Startup Edmonton HQ
“June’s Edmonton Dribbble Meetup was a small gathering of designers and artists. A great chance to meet new people and connect with some Dribbblers in person. We discussed the state of modern design tools and workflow with a focus on Sketch.”
New Orleans, LA @ Twelve Mile Limit
New Orleans Dribbblers chatted over refreshing beverages at Twelve Mile Limit. It was a small turnout which made it an intimate meetup. They’ll be having another meetup soon, so stayed tuned.
