“Copenhagen Dribbble Meetup was organized by Iconfinder at Falcon.io headquarters and gathered around 100 attendees from city’s design and development community. We had three great talks by Koen Bok from Framer, local designer hero Michael Flarup, and Sketch’s founder Pieter Omvlee. We also ran a fun icon sketching game, where people drew icons representing Copenhagen. Throughout the night we enjoyed beers and snacks, chatted with our peers, and made some great new friends. Shoutout to our sponsors for helping to make this happen!”

Miami, FL @ Starthub

  1. MiamiDribbble Critique Night event meetup miamidribbble

“We wanted to do an event around the idea of getting criticism and positive feedback. So we gathered together and sketched for 20 minutes, then we posted to Dribbble using the local tag, in our case Miami Dribbble. We commented on each other post some good feedback, then we talked about each other shots and hopefully we learn a thing or two. We hope that other designers kids from other cities take our idea and use it as well, if they are looking for some feedback to grow as designers.”

Warsaw, Poland @ The Place

“Summer is over, so we’re back with a Dribbble Warsaw Meetup! On the 20th of September over 80 designers met in the brand new venue, the Warsaw Spire.

We had three great presentations: Piotr Kmita from EL Passion talked about coding for designers, Magda Boheńska from La Wonderlab approached user-friendly design, and Stanisław Eysmont from GOG.com explained the whiteboard challenge.

As always, there also was beer and a great afterparty. We’re already planning the next meetup with EL Passion and Daftcode, but first we invite everyone to Design Encounters Conference in November.”

The Piktochart + Dribbble Meetup was a success. Besides the cool swag and the wacky photo booth, there was also the Analog Playoff competition. We loved the idea of helping creative people express themselves, so we encouraged attendees to draw out their ideas of a ‘Designer’s Nightmare’ and an ‘Emoji You Wish Existed’! This was an idea inspired by previous Dribbble Meetups from other parts of the globe.

The other highlights of the meetup were the sessions by 3 different industry superstars: Amy Ng, a self-taught illustrator who manages Pikaland; Eureka Foong, a PhD student at Northwestern University; and Jay Lim, the creative director for CUTOUT Magazine Malaysia. Each were specially handpicked by our planning team for their valuable stories and years of expertise.

The 5th Cape Town Dribbble Event on the 14th of September was the busiest yet, with excellent speakers, eager competition participants, a few new faces and plenty of popcorn, beer and pizza.

We started off the evening’s talks with an entertaining and thoughtful exploration of the fundamentals of UX and how they’ve been applied to Physical Computing from TouchFoundry’s Managing Director, Fabio Longano. Then Stephan Pretorius and Gert Schoeman, Creative Directors at Makers Company, shared an awesome visual presentation on icons.

We also hosted our evening ‘analog competition’ where meetup attendees got the chance to try their hand at designing their own icon.

Valencia, Spain @ Flywire HQ

“For the first Valencia Dribbble Meetup, we had about 15 people attend. It was a small crowd, but it was great in terms of quality. I gave a talk about ‘Giving better feedback’ and we had a great conversation after that. Everyone shared personal experiences from the past or recent jobs and it was a great time for the people to connect. Everyone left with a good impression and looking forward to the next one so I guess this is the beginning of something good!”
