Who are you? Let us know where you hail from and what you do.
Hi! I’m Ayana Campbell and I’m a designer born and raised Orlando, FL where I work with the incredibly talented team at Envy. My design areas of interest range from illustration to icon design to animation but it wasn’t until I took digital design internship at an agency during my last semester of college that I truly found my happy place designing for the web.
What are you working on?
As a product designer, I work closely with clients through all phases of design from high fidelity wireframing to interface design and asset creation to turn their ideas into successful products. Most recently, I’ve been working on some exciting internal projects here at Envy.
Choose a favorite shot of yours. Why is it a favorite?
This is my favorite shot. It’s a character animation I created to go along with a post I wrote about Dribbble for our company blog. Although it doesn’t really illustrate what I do in my daily work life I had so much fun figuring out to animate a character for the first time. Definitely hoping I work on more stuff like this in the near future.
Tell us about your setup. What tools did you use to create the shot (e.g. hardware, software, pens, paper, blowtorch)?
Like many designers, I have the typical Macbook + monitor setup that I use when I work from the office but when I’m at home it’s just me, my desk, and my 13 inch Macbook. Besides the obvious design programs like Photoshop and Illustrator, Sketch 3 has become my new best friend and a part of my everyday workflow. It’s great for wireframing and site planning. Spotify is a must—and yes—upgrading to Premium is totally worth it. I use Evernote for staying organized and I love notebooks from Rifle Paper Company and Micron pens, for note-taking/planning/sketching.
Choose a favorite shot from another Player. Why do you dig it?
It’s completely impossible to choose my favorite shot since there are so many talented creatives in the growing Dribbble community. But since I have to pick, I recently came across this shot by Carolina Buzio. I love the character and the animation plus the cause it represented is great. The campaign has ended but you guys should definitely still check out the entire video!
