The folks at Jack Magma are holding the first Milan Dribbble Meetup. Join designers, illustrators, animators and design minded people at Venini42 for a chat, a beer, and maybe some drawing.
The Milan Dribbble Meetup is on Wednesday, March 9th at 7pm. The event is full, but you can RSVP for the waitlist here.
In advance of the meetup, Jack Magma Co-founder and Product Designer Andrea Perato gave us a tour of the Milan design scene.
Tell us what you love about Milan.
There is a popular saying among Milanese people that goes “If you can’t find it in Milan, then it doesn’t exists.” Milano is such a great city, you can find both old cultural spots and incredibly modern areas.
A lot of design related events are also organized throughout the year. Milan Design Week is a worldwide gathering and Fashion Weeks are also incredibly popular—but also small events happen each week.
Tell us where you work, in relation to the rest of Milan.

Venini42 is a new technologic hub in the city. Our company, Jack Magma, shares a welcoming, wooden-floored loft with some of the most interesting technologic firms in Milan.
Every week there is an event taking place here and the subjects vary every time—from augmented reality to wine tasting, and Node and Angular to social eating.
Tell us about the Milan design scene.
The design scene is incredibly alive here. There are a lot of good digital/communication designers and many industrial design agencies. Milan is a natural gateway for anyone that wants to be in the design scene.
Choose three shots from Milan Dribbblers you admire, and tell us what you like about each one.
Il Duomo di Milano by Alberto Lot, above left.
I really like this shot of the Duomo, the biggest cathedral in Milan, because it shows the monument with such vibrant colours, making it more playful and fresh than how people usually represent it. And of course the motion graphic is super smooth and fun.
Work vs Holidays 02 by Francesco Faggiano, above center.
I had the chance to see Francesco working at an Adobe event and I was absolutely stunned, such great techniques combined with an amazing talent.
Flight Animation by Vincenzo Di Cosmo, above right.
I think the way Vincenzo put together UI design and motion graphics for this shot is just perfect, and it really makes the point on how animation can help the experience of the user.
Can’t make it on Saturday, March 9th? Find Andrea on Dribbble and Twitter and at www.andreaperato.com.
