Five-year-old Synthia is often breathless and lethargic. On her worst days, she misses preschool. The operation that will fix the hole in heart, the cause of her problems, costs $1,500. Ma Khin, 59, suffers from debilitating back pain caused by a noncancerous tumor. Her treatment also costs $1,500.
Watsi raises money to pay for medical treatment for patients such as Synthia and Ma Khin, who can’t afford the procedures they need. To date the organization, which uses 100 percent of all donations for healthcare, has helped more than 2,500 people in 19 countries. Dribbble has teamed with 16 other companies to try and grow that number.
