Animator
At Kialo Edu we're looking for a Animator who will create engaging animated graphics to reflect our brand.
Launched in 2019, Kialo Edu is a dedicated site for educators, and currently has over 800,000 users. Kialo is a free tool that uses argument mapping to allow users to visualize complex debates and topics. Educators worldwide use our platform to teach critical thinking and facilitate thoughtful classroom discussion. Kialo is seeking an experienced freelance Animator to support our Europe-based video design team. As our Animator, you will be working alongside our video design team in creating animated content to be used on our web app, blog page, and social media.
This is a remote position though you will need to be able to join occasional virtual meetings. The role is for one initial project with the potential for more animation work following.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with our video production team to create animated content for our website and web app
Translate concepts and ideas into high-quality animations.
Create animations that bring our product to life and that engage our users! The assets need to capture our style, but also be eye catching and appealing to potential users.
Requirements
Proven experience as an animator with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Experience of using graphic design tools, such as Figma, to create animation based on UI elements.
Able to take verbal and written briefs, ask questions, and adapt them to create strong, conceptual, and creative animations.
Understanding of responsive design.
Familiar with (UX artifacts such as) mockups, as well as best practices.
Previous experience working on commercial web apps.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
Experience in creating animation for the edtech sector
Experience in creating interactive graphics and animations.
Experience in video editing.

Understanding of accessibility needs such as color blindness and low vision.
