Earlier this month, the folks at Pantone announced the Pantone Color of the Year for 2019 and we’re already seeing it everywhere! The color which is called Living Coral is a coral hue inspired by our marine ecosystem. Here’s what the Pantone Color Institute had to say about it:
“PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral emits the desired, familiar, and energizing aspects of color found in nature. In its glorious, yet unfortunately more elusive, display beneath the sea, this vivifying and effervescent color mesmerizes the eye and mind. Lying at the center of our naturally vivid and chromatic ecosystem, PANTONE Living Coral is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope of color.”
The Pantone Color Institute has been hugely important in influencing all aspects of color within design for years now. Moving into 2019, we’re very excited to see the color used throughout all fields of design, especially within the Dribbble community. Designers have already been sharing some stellar work inspired by Living Coral and we are digging the enthusiasm. We’ll be keeping an eye out for Living Coral on Dribbble and everywhere else this year and we challenge you to implement it into your work!
