Who are you?

My name is Owen Davey and I’m an Illustrator working in the UK that likes to do a bit of everything. I like having my fingers in many illustration-based pies.

What are you working on?

A couple of books, more illustrations for TwoDots, a few fun projects I can’t talk about yet, and some nice packaging stuff

Choose a favorite shot of yours. Why is it a favorite?

I think this is a good example of some of the animal work I produce and I was really pleased with how the palette turned out

Tell us about your setup. What tools did you use to create the shot (e.g. hardware, software, pens, paper, blowtorch)?

I am a simple man. I sketch stuff, scan it and then colour it in Photoshop, sometimes adding scanned in textures for depth. Yes. Photoshop. I know I should probably use Illustrator. And no I don’t use a Wacom. In fact, half the time I just use the trackpad on my laptop. It’s how I learnt, and I struggle to adapt to new techniques and programs.
