Who are you?
I’m Tsuriel Eichenstein, animation director at a small design agency in Brooklyn, New York. I also try to make some time to do some freelance on the side when a great project comes knocking. I’ve been designing brand identities and posters since 2007, and more recently directing my focus on motion design. My weapons of choice are Illustrator, After Effects and Cinema 4D.
What are you working on?
I’m always working on a few projects at once. One project in particular I’m excited about is an app to request emergency services when, for example, you are locked out of your house or in case of a flood. It’s coming along real nice. Another project I’m working on is a set of animations for a credit card security website.
Choose a favorite shot of yours. Why is it a favorite?
Learning how to do a parallax environment in this looping animation was fun and challenging, which made it a great learning experience. I also love the fun energy this one has with its vibrant color palette.
Tell us about your setup. What tools do you use in your job? (e.g. hardware, software, pens, paper, blowtorch)?
First off is my Wacom tablet, don’t go anywhere without it. Followed closely by my wireless headphones, humming almost every song I listen to, annoying the crap out of the people I work with.

I just love everything about this shot from Markus Magnusson. The story is funny (triple points), the timing is killer, the colors, all the little details being animated—I just smile every time I see it.
