Who are you?
I am a 6’6” amateur basketball player and a Pro Dribbbler. Been doing logo design for the past eight years. Love mammals, birds, and abstract forms, also love my wife and family. Nowadays, mostly working on logo designs and some web. My talented team of helpers consist of Nina Megrelidze and Kakha Kakhadzen. Very good sports.
What are you working on?
Nowadays I am working on several startups from Europe, the U.S., and Japan. Also finishing up a huge online project called Greenzones that is launching in October.
Choose a favorite shot of yours. Why is it a favorite?
Out of my portfolio I love this shot. It has philosophical ideas as well as a certain style that lures in few lines.
Tell us about your setup. What tools did you use to create the shot (e.g. hardware, software, pens, paper, blowtorch)?
Pencil - my favorite tool. I always start with it. I believe logo design is more of a sculpting. I start with rough drawing, then scanning and execution in Illustrator. While executing I try to strip all the extra elements until a thin line between abstract and concrete is found. When I am tired and not so uplifted I tend to go into abstraction, assuming that the viewer recognizes elements the same way as I do, but this is wrong. Form is useless unless it has universal cognitive clues. That’s when Dribbble comes to play. People’s reactions keep my designs in check and keep me grounded.
Choose a favorite shot from another Player. Why do you dig it?
It just feels so nailed. Nothing needs to be changed.
