Dribbble Gift Guide Coming Soon
Since Last Week
Creative Market pulled together a fine crew of design-minded companies to get some good done this month. The Pay It Forward Bundle contains $4,500 worth of design assets and creative services, including 20% off any purchase at our Equipment Shop. Buyers pay what they will. All proceeds go to Watsi, a nonprofit paying for medical treatment for patients who can’t afford procedures they need. To date the organization, which uses 100 percent of all donations for healthcare, has helped more than 2,500 people in 19 countries. More details at the Pay It Forward Bundle website.
Speaking of healthcare, last week’s Moonlighting focused on Wesley George, pharmacist by day and designer by night. (Ambicranial by Wesley above center.) In Timeout, designer and illustrator Ty Wilkins talked about current projects and favorite shots. (John McGarvey by Ty above right.)

Meetup Wrap-up
Dribbble Meetup Melbourne, Australia, November 12
Redbubble threw a great Dribbble meetup, featuring a talk from the self-described “Robin Hood of PSD files,” Blaz Robar, and a Melbourne-themed Analogue Playoff. Thanks to organizer Shaun Byrne, who wrote an excellent wrap-up at the Redbubble Blog.
A few snippets here: “A couple of weeks ago, the Rebubble HQ in Melbourne played host to the globally popular Dribbble Meetup. A free event where designers and artists can meetup, learn, and mingle with like-minded people to help invigorate the design scene by developing a closer community and sharing ideas. About 50 designers from around Melbourne watched Blaz Robar, a popular Melbourne Dribbbler, speak on the topic of Passive Income for Designers. All the while scoring free swag and consuming some of Melbourne’s tastiest beer and wine, and chomping on New Orleans’-style food.” Keep your eyes on the Dribbble Meetups page for details on another Melbourne Redbubble Dribbble meetup soon.
The Half-Time Hangout, Oslo, Norway, November 25
From organizer Roger Dean Olden: “The Half-Time Hangout is designed to be an “in-between” event, which we can organise with minimal planning. It’s a way for us to keep in touch and meet more often. This time we met at Crowbar, which is an amazing microbrewery with about 20 homebrewed beers on tap. And the chef in charge of the kebab has probably created the best kebab in Scandinavia. The mood was so good, we forgot all about taking pictures. We only have this one picture from the last hour, when som designers had already left.”

Lisbon Dribbble Meetup, Lisbon, Portugal, December 4
Organizer João Oliveira Simões reports, “the event was a blast!” Dribbblers gathered at the Hotel Florida for talks from the “People Behind the Shots” — Hugo Franca, Miguel Mendes, Jorge Olino, Helder Oliveira, Yuliya Po — and mingling. The event was so successful, João’s already fielding requests for another one. “We have a lot of events for engineers but none for designers here in Portugal,” he said. “So this was something everyone was really excited about.”
