A Failed Personal Project

A friend and I worked on a mobile app for a little over 6 months together. The app allowed users to record short, song-idea clips and share them with their friends. We wanted to make writing music social and fun.

After 6 months of weekly meetings, sketching, prototyping, user testing, user research and pitching to investors, two apps launched doing the exact same thing. We decided it would be foolish to try and compete with these larger companies so we let it go. It was a bittersweet day. This consumed much of my free-time and almost all of my thoughts. It was sad to say goodbye, but we learned so much throughout the process.
