Gallerie kawaii | Brand project

The thesis explores an analysis of the Japanese Kawaii imagery as a different and distant perspective from the Western mainstream. By understanding the history and social dynamics that gave rise to the Kawaii language, one comes to embrace its peculiarities not only as a communicative form 'suitable for children or girls' but rather as a complex world and culture full of still unexplored formal opportunities. Among the potential applications of the Kawaii visual style, the possibility of introducing it into Western museum communication has been identified.
