Accounting Client Mobile App Development

About this Service

The displayed price and timeline are indicative, based on our experience with comparable projects. We discuss the scope, final cost and delivery schedule for each project individually.

UITOP designs and develops client-facing mobile apps for accounting firms and financial software teams. A client may need to connect a bank account, check whether it is linked to the right business, and see if the accounting team has received the information it needs. That mobile journey has to match the records and access rules in the wider product.

The starting engagement covers one agreed client workflow in an existing accounting platform. A bank connection journey is a common fit: from opening the client app through provider authorization to a verified connection status. We review your current product, provider, APIs and client account structure before defining the implementation work.

When This Service Fits

  • Clients are asked to connect accounts, but the mobile app does not explain what happened after they return from the provider.

  • A connection appears successful on screen while the accountant still cannot see the linked account.

  • One client has several businesses or bank accounts, and the app needs a dependable way to show which account belongs where.

  • A link expires or fails, and the client needs a route to try again and see the current state.

  • Your accounting team has a working web product and needs a client-facing mobile flow connected to its existing records and permissions.

Starting Scope and Deliverables

  • Review of the current accounting product, client roles, mobile codebase and bank-link provider documentation.

  • Definition of the selected client journey and its acceptance scenarios.

  • UX/UI design for the agreed mobile screens, prompts, account records and connection states.

  • Mobile implementation for the selected flow in the agreed product stack.

  • Integration with available product APIs and the supported provider flow included in scope.

  • Handling for return, pending, failed, disconnected and reconnect states supported by the product.

  • Checks that the account is associated with the intended client entity and that role-specific access behaves as agreed.

  • QA of the selected scenarios, source code, implementation notes and handoff.

We agree which provider, client entities, platforms and backend responsibilities belong in the first phase. A new accounting backend, ledger, bank network or full mobile portal requires a separate scope.

Verify the Account Connection

A provider can return a user to the app before the accounting product has stored and verified the linked account. We map those events with your engineering team and define what the client should see at each point. A completed provider screen, a pending product update and an account ready for the accountant are separate states when your system treats them that way.

We design and implement the supported return path, status view and recovery actions against your provider and API behavior. If authorization expires or account data is unavailable, the app should show the current state and the action your product allows. We test those cases in the available integration environment before handoff.

Connect Mobile Access to the Right Client

An accounting firm may work with several clients, and a client may have more than one business or financial account. We establish which record owns a connection, who can view it and what the accountant receives from the mobile action. The app uses the identity, client relationship and access model defined for your platform.

Your accounting and security owners confirm the permissions and data-handling requirements. We implement the selected mobile and API behavior within the agreed architecture, then check it with representative client and firm roles. Any open access or provider decision is recorded for the responsible team.

Build Around Your Existing Product

We work with your current mobile app or create the bounded client flow in the agreed stack. Our team reviews existing components, API contracts, provider documentation and release process. React Native is an option supported by our Pacioli experience; we select technology against your product environment.

The designer can work directly in your prototype, prepare a functional artifact in Claude or another agreed tool, or use Figma. Designers and developers review the chosen interaction together, including the backend responses that determine what appears in the app. A prototype uses sample states where live financial data is not available for review.

Relevant UITOP Work

UITOP designed and developed Pacioli for MedTax, a Canadian accounting firm serving healthcare professionals. We built the accountant web product and a React Native client app. The mobile app lets clients connect their bank accounts through Flinks, so their financial data can enter the firm's accounting workflow. The published product also includes account-management functions for clients.

Pacioli gives us direct experience with the relationship between a client's mobile action and the accountant's working system. A new project still depends on its own provider, market, account structure and technical constraints. We define the first implementation phase from those inputs.

Review the Working Flow

We check the selected journey from the client's first action to the state visible in the accounting product. Reviews include the successful path and the relevant interrupted, pending and reconnect cases. Your team receives the implemented code, the tested scenarios, the interaction details and any remaining provider or product decisions.
