Hi! I’m Matthew (he/they), a designer, illustrator, and recovering perfectionist based in Portland, Oregon. With roots in design and tech, I’ve built my brand (RUFF) and career around making meaningful, creative things—from custom apparel to visual identities.
I work with AI as a creative partner to move fast, explore more ideas, and keep things fresh. It helps me turn bursts of inspiration into actual output—especially with an ADHD brain that doesn’t like doing things the same way twice.
Whether I’m building design systems for tech companies or drawing custom pet portraits inspired by my three dachshunds—Hendricks, Winston, and Poppy—I bring a mix of curiosity, playfulness, and thoughtful execution to everything I make.
