Art Director / Senior Designer
[Important] Our Style(s): Y2K Designers Republic + 80s airbrush 3D + subtle retro Scanimate + 90s cyberpunk... If your portfolio focuses on flat minimalism, corporate startup branding, or purely web/UI work, this is not the right fit.
Intro:
Providence-based creative studio seeks a production-heavy Art Director — someone who lives in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. This is not a “deck-making” director role — you’ll be in the trenches producing world-class visuals while also guiding outside artists when needed. You must be equally comfortable designing static assets and building polished motion pieces yourself.
Core Function:
Take concepts, AI outputs, and subcontractor work and refine them to pixel-perfect, print-ready, and broadcast-ready assets.
Build motion graphics in After Effects to the same high standard as your static work — from title sequences to show packages to kinetic type.
Match and extend an established visual language: Y2K Designer’s Republic + 80s airbrush 3D + subtle retro-vaporwave/Scanimate + 90s cyberpunk.
Direct/hire outside motion artists, illustrators, or other specialists when required.
Be physically in the Providence studio full-time (six days/week as standard).
Relocation required (US work authorization required).
Key Traits:
Master finisher — obsessive about kerning, color correction, resolution, type hierarchy, layout precision.
Hands-on — fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects; 3D is a plus.
Speed + quality — execute quickly without sacrificing polish.
Aesthetic discipline — thrives within a fixed style DNA but can improvise when needed.
Resourceful — has a personal network of other high-level creatives to call on.
Thick-skinned — comfortable with high-pace, high-pressure feedback cycles.
Compensation & Terms:
$200K/year — paid equivalent amount as a freelancer for the first 90-day probationary period.
$10K relocation stipend upon start.
$15K signing bonus paid after successful completion of the probationary period.
