Pococha Manager/Lead Product Designer

As we expand our footprint across international markets, we are seeking an experienced and strategic hands-on Manager/Lead Designer, to join our dynamic team.

▼The role

We are looking for a self-motivated product designer with exceptional design and communication skills to craft the user experience that empowers neighbors and businesses to build stronger communities transforming how people connect and engage with community experiences created by Poocha.

This role is a hands-on manager role where you spend approximately 50% of your time managing a team of designers and the remaining 50% hands-on designing. With experience across the full product lifecycle, from product discovery and hypothesis validation to design development and feature measurement, you will contribute your hands-on design skills to the team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Global Design based in the US, you will oversee the following responsibilities.

▼Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, mentor, and inspire a team of product designers, providing direction and feedback to elevate the quality of the design work.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors through effective resource utilization and timely delivery.

  • Work with product management to develop and measure KPIs and other success metrics to track the impact and effectiveness of features and products.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs aligned with both business and user requirements, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product managers in an agile development environment, integrating UX research and prototyping into the overall workflow.

  • Work with the UX ops team to define and refine design processes, workflows, and frameworks and implement them to increase efficiency and produce business results.

  • Develop strong relationships with the Creative Director, Brand and Marketing, and Creative Director, Product to evolve the Design System including brand guidelines and UI library.

▼Minimum Qualifications

  • An online portfolio showcasing examples of the work you and/or your team’s work illustrating a deep understanding and application of UX principles, research insights, and design trends.

  • 8+ years of experience in User Experience design, with at least 3 years of experience managing a team.

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, applying insights to iterate design.

  • Established track record of effectively balancing ambiguity, fast iterative sprints, business acumen, technology, organizational agility.

  • An insatiable appetite for learning and unlearning and understanding global neighborhoods as we expand our footprint.

  • Professional-level Japanese proficiency

  • Experience designing consumer-facing software or apps that serve millions of users on multiple platforms.

  • Experience working in the entertainment or gaming industry.

  • Experience in a global work environment.

  • Business-level English proficiency
