The Creative Director (“CD”) leads and oversees the creative process for all brand and design-related deliverables. They’re responsible for building and managing the creative team and for ensuring the caliber of work delivered meets or exceeds company standards.

The CD works closely with the Operations Director to ensure the creative process is executed smoothly. Our company prides itself on delivering best-in-class creative work that blends design excellence and industry expertise. Therefore, it’s at the core of the CD role to ensure this level of quality is achieved by way of the overarching workflow and the design team itself.

They are responsible for championing a creative process that’s flexible, thorough, and adaptable to reasonable constraints (budget, timeline, and scope).

Day-to-day, the CD serves as a “player/coach” in both internal and client-facing projects. Typically, they direct members of the design team to execute work, but on some high-priority projects, they also serve as the lead designer. Either way, they set the overall creative vision and present the work to the client.

They are also accountable for ensuring the design team is well-resourced and utilized. E.g. every team member has sufficient design work on their plate, they consistently deliver quality work, and assigned time allotments are honored.

The CD reports to the President. They’re one of four director-level roles at the company alongside the Technical, Marketing, and Operations Directors. Together, these roles are responsible for front-to-back project execution.
