Senior Product Designer

If you are a Product Designer who wants to step into the challenge of being responsible for crafting a delightful end-to-end user journey and building products that will revolutionize an industry on a collaborative team, we’d like to talk to you.

You are a good fit for this role if you love working on all aspects of the product design process. You will help lead us to the next level of SmugMug. Sound like a big goal? It is - it will take tenacity, collaboration, and a learning mindset.

As Senior Product Designer, you possess strong interaction and visual design skills, love facilitating designers and non-designers through the design process with a breadth of design methods and processes, and have phenomenal instincts for solving the right user problems.

You Will:

  • Mentor others in design methods and practices
  • Continue to build an evidence-based design practice across the company, working with user researchers to incorporate research and data into your design decisions
  • Continuously learn and grow as a designer and leader by finding opportunities to expand your skill set and share with others
  • Facilitate ideation, Design Sprints, Design Studios, and other tools for collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and Business stakeholders
  • Craft prototypes in your favorite tools (we currently use Figma and InVision) to gain feedback from customers and internal partners

You Have:

  • You are an experienced designer, having worked in startups or large organizations for many years
  • You have knowledge of human-computer interaction (HCI) design, a breadth of design methodologies, and a life-long learning attitude. You have an undergraduate or graduate degree in HCI, cognitive psychology, or cognitive science, or equivalent experience and knowhow
  • Comfortable leading a project from inception through execution, including flows, sketches, wireframes, and prototypes
  • You love finding the simple in the complex and are comfortable with ambiguity
  • You find presenting to cross-functional groups exhilarating
  • You know when to critique your own work, and can make objective design decisions with the team
  • You regularly push your limits and tackle problems in innovative ways
  • You find joy in bringing others along for the design journey, through facilitation of workshops, leading discussions, and storytelling

Nice to Have:

  • Passion for photography
