Role: Graphic Designer

Public Rec is building a digitally-native men’s leisure brand with products people love. We’re growing rapidly and looking for our fifth employee.

We’re seeking a skilled graphic designer to help elevate and strengthen our brand message through all visual communication online and offline. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of design principles, especially typography and branding, across both digital and print formats. Additionally, the candidate will be comfortable with developing copy and implementing our brand voice across all assets.

The candidate will design within an established brand identity system while pushing the direction forward. Daily design projects will include web design, marketing emails, digital assets for social media, print materials, and photo editing. You will help prepare assets for production across various formats.

The position will be based in Chicago and reports to our Head of Creative.

Qualifications & Attributes:

·       1-4 years professional design experience ideally at an agency or consumer brand

·       BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent

·       Professional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

·       Proficiency in CSS, HTML, Wordpress is ideal but not necessary

·       Comfortable creating copy in the brand voice to be implemented across channels and deliverables

·       Possess a strong understanding of the consumer mindset, consumer empathy, and dedication to great consumer experiences

Responsibilities:

·       Work with the Head of Creative to continually develop digital and print assets to be used for social media ads, email campaigns, Instagram posts, web, and direct mail

·       Help plan, coordinate, and assist in studio and on-location photo and video shoots

·       Design and prepare email campaigns. Develop email marketing calendar with marketing and creative partners and then execute the campaigns

·       Manage all social media channels for Public Rec, namely Instagram and Facebook. Plan posts, write copy, and respond to customer questions and comments

·       Review and help drive web design as well as continually refresh assets on our website

·       Edit photos and video to keep a consistent look for the brand
