UI/UX Designer

Full Job Description

SwingU is one of the fastest-growing and exciting technology companies in the golf space. We are looking for a passionate UI/UX Designer looking to grow their skillsets while having a direct impact on the product. You’ll work with our lead designer on improving the user experience of our shot tracking, game improvement app and our golf coaching platform.

Location

This job is 100% remote, though Connecticut residence is preferred.

What you'll be doing:

Helping to figure out what the most important problems to solve are
Working with the team to come up with solutions to those problems
UI design for iOS, Android, and web
Participate in the creation and maintenance of a design system
Ensure design language is consistent across the entire SwingU ecosystem
Help coordinate and execute user testing
Graphics for marketing (e-mail campaigns, Instagram, Facebook, etc)
Level up your design skills with the help of our lead designer

The ideal candidate:

Strives for pixel perfection
Is comfortable working in Figma and Auto Layout
Believes User Experience is critical to good UI Design, one cannot succeed without the other
Communicates well, their opinion matters
Is not afraid to ask questions, knows how to admit when they need help
Thrives on constructive criticism
Can work collaboratively across an entire product team. This includes but is not limited to Product Managers, Developers, QA, Designers, and other stakeholders
Checks their ego at the door, realizes the best design solutions come from an informed approach
Understands basic design principles
Cares about the details
Can work effectively as a remote team member
Plays golf!

Bonus points if:

You understand the Strokes Gained statistic
You’re familiar with design systems and component libraries
You have recent experience working on mobile apps
You are interested in motion and interaction design, double bonus points if you’re experienced in designing it
You have illustration experience
You tell us in your application letter what your favorite type of cookie is, letting us know you’ve read the entire job description
You understand the limitations of basic front end development. What design work can and can’t be feasibly built in code
