Staff Product Designer, Marketplace

As a Staff Product Designer on the Marketplace team, you will be embedded in a cross-functional team where you will work on impactful, revenue-driving products for Mothership customers.
The ideal candidate for this role has strong knowledge in designing and maintaining complex products with a large surface area and feature set. You will share our passion for systems-thinking in designing products that solve challenges within freight and logistics. Our team works in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, so excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to take risks are required.
What You'll Do
- Work within a collaborative and inclusive environment to design web products that revolutionize the way we see freight
- Shepherd the invention and iteration of impactful product features through the design process lifecycle, from ideation with Product Managers to implementation with Engineering teams
- Conduct user research and prototype product experiences to validate user testing
- Articulate user research findings, core customer problems, and necessary logistics-focused solutions to internal/external stakeholders
- Partner with other Product Designers to solve problems across product lines and participate in the growth of a high-impact, world-class design team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 4+ years of UI/UX product design experience on complex web and mobile apps at an established or high-growth company
- Strong track record of shipping high-impact customer experiences
- Advanced knowledge of Figma, Sketch, or similar design and prototyping tools
- Strong visual design skills that demonstrate the ability to craft a premium aesthetic
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing and synthesizing insights to drive product improvements
- Experience and strong familiarity working with engineering teams and providing well-documented product design deliverables
- Ability to build, expand, and manage design systems
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced and execution-focused environment
- Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and accountability are a must

Compensation Philosophy
We're committed to compensating people well, not only through cash and equity (options), but with 99% employer-covered medical, vision, dental, and disability insurance as well. All employees are offered a work-from-home stipend, monthly internet stipend, and a 4% 401(k) match.
At Mothership, we believe it's vital to offer a range of compensation packages, so you have the power to make the appropriate financial decision for yourself and your family. Upon offer, you will receive a breakdown of 5 different cash vs. equity packages to choose from, with additional information on estimated equity valuation.
The cash portion for this role ranges from $142,400 - $178,000.
We offer equity options in ISO that vest over four years with a one-year cliff. The % and value will be discussed later in the interview process.
