Art Director

The Art Director is responsible for translating business strategies into exceptional and elevated branding and visual experiences for the company. This includes both external and internal facing identities for the corporate brand, casino brands, and employer brand. This role will deliver an elevated branded consumer experience that blends content, function, and design into a seamless creative experience that delivers measurable results. It includes, but is not limited to: defining brand architecture, concepting, and designing new brand campaigns, developing new franchise templates for the internal studio, and designing content for digital marketing – in both owned and paid channels; email, web, mobile, and social media across a portfolio of 35+ properties.

Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Strategy, concept, design, and evolution of the company’s brand marketing and visual design systems. Work within a larger brand ecosystem and property leadership to deliver best-in-class design across internal and external brand and marketing touchpoints.
  • Design and develop creative strategies based on consumer research for new brand projects, large campaigns, and digital products.
  • Ideate and design strategic creative solutions to meet business objectives and best in class customer experience across multiple mediums in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholder.
  • Interpret stakeholder feedback to shape design solutions that meet both business and consumer need.
  • Design, maintain, and evolve scalable visual design systems such as style guides, typography, content, and asset libraries that drive consistency and effectiveness across multiple mediums and platforms – from large campaigns to websites, to mobile, and to internal templates across various departments.
  • Translate brand styles, data, and stories into creative presentations, utilizing infographic charts, illustration, and photography.
  • Create on-brand, engaging visual assets across all digital channels, including homepage refreshes, editorial landing pages, cross-promotional banners, and other site assets, emails, digital display banners, social media ads, internal templates.
  • Adapt quickly and accurately to design updates based on market and promotional changes.

Qualifications/Requirements:  

  • BFA Graphic Design, New Media Design, or equivalent degree.
  • Eight years of design experience in the digital space, minimum 4 years at an agency preferred.
  • UI/UX design experience in digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in brand strategy, designing brand materials/assets, and digital marketing materials for big brands.
  • A portfolio that displays thoughtful, versatile, and contemporary designs for well-known consumer brands, e-commerce. A plus for experience with casino brands.
  • Experience presenting brand initiatives to executive teams.
  • Experience designing a brand from the ground up, creating full 360 campaigns.
  • Experience in responsive and adaptive design.
  • Execution of key Graphic Design principles, including Typography, Color Theory, Layout Content Hierarchy, ADA compliance rules, etc.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, usability heuristics, interaction principles, and how it informs creative design.
  • Fluency in digital technologies and platforms that inform the opportunities within a design for web and mobile.
  • Expert within the Adobe Creative Suite, and creative interactive applications such as Figma, Invision, Sketch.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with large multi-disciplinary teams with remote partners across geographies.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • An entrepreneurial mentality and a drive to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Great attention to detail in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
