UI Engineer

The most important stuff in every company is happening in meetings. But our meeting tools were designed in an era when meetings were almost always in person. Today’s meeting tools let you see and hear each other. That’s it. Vowel is a full stack meeting OS that actually helps you have better meetings, collaborate more effectively, and surface insightful team metrics and trends.

We are actively seeking a UI Engineer with a clear understanding of design, remarkable attention to detail and expertise in CSS and JavaScript who will own the design system and become the bridge between design and engineering.
What you'll do
- Work with our product design team to collaborate on designs and specs and bring them to life.
- Interact with engineers with a pixel-perfect eye to fine-tune CSS styling, functionality, and interaction design.
- Create clean, sophisticated, and user-friendly interfaces that are reusable, cross-browser compatible, and responsive.
- Conduct thorough testing of user interfaces in multiple platforms to ensure all designs render correctly and systems function properly, incorporating feedback from actual potential users as well as members of the design team.
What we look for
- 3-5 years of experience working as a UI Engineer, Frontend Engineer, Product Engineer, or any related role.
- In-depth knowledge of user interface development languages and frameworks such as HTML, SCSS, React, Redux, etc.
- Experience building for mobile and responsive layouts.
- Great understanding of browser features and limitations to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.
Extras we'd love to see
- Experience with test automation, tools, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of design system and component libraries, how to use and maintain.
- Experience using React and JSX template language, as well as Redux (Saga/Toolkit).
