Amanda D. White

My passion for art and design began to blossom when I was a child. My grandmother was a professional illustrator and art , trained at the Glasgow School of Art, and my grandfather worked in advertising, and designed logos and brand identities. As I grew up, I watched them work and they taught me foundational skills in painting and drawing.

My creative career began in the kitchen. I spent seven years in the restaurant industry, filling a variety of roles such as: bread baker, line cook, pastry cook, butcher, eventually working my way up the rank to sous chef. One day, I decided to hang up my apron and pursue a career in design. The kitchen provided me with the discipline and the ability to make creative decisions and meet deadlines under intense pressure. These skills, combined with my experience in fine arts. have had a substantial impact on my process as a designer.
