Haenyeo

I love photographs of haenyeo, the female divers of Jeju province in Korea, of which 98% were over the age of 50 as of 2014. I studied some of my favorite photos and researched the tools and types of sea creatures they harvest from the ocean, and turned it into a portrait that reflects the deliberate, disciplined, and independent spirit of the haenyeo.
