Book Cover

Made this book cover for independent publishing firm Sand & Jern - Translating Chinese literature into Danish. This classic short story folk tale by Lu Xun, tells the story of modernizing China, and we wanted the cover to symbolize this. The black stroke is both the calligraphy pensil stroke and the long braids cut off during the revolution. The clear red is the communist China taking over the old paradime.
