Many people say they go to the woods for the peace and quiet. However, if you take the time to listen, Mother Nature is quite loud.

The woods have humbled me these past few weeks of deer season. They have beaten me up, frozen me, stolen hope, and expertly hidden deer.

But no matter how bad the circumstances are, I'm still in love with the woods. I've spent hours listening to its running streams, woodpeckers finding lunch, owls roosting before sunrise, foxes grabbing a drink, and fat squirrels chasing each other through the freshly fallen leaves.

All of which have their own unique sounds greater than all the problems created in the mind.
