Donuts and Pyjamas

Created as a special request from a donut-obsessed child to invite her friends for a few hours of fun. I started with some rough sketches, and photos of donuts. From there began playing with different layouts. An invitation is both for the child (to bring excitement) and the parent (for the logistics). I used a "busy" photo with bright colours to convey fun party energy. I used a thick block text to stand out against the background image. The lines in the text is similar to the weight of the text in the party details to help carry the eye through. The cool solid blue background on the bottom half provides somewhere for the eye to rest in contrast to the busy image above. It also makes it easy for parents to quickly scan and get the important information they need.
