Way Out West Music Swedish Festival Merch 2019

Live Nation Sweden’s Way Out West is a three-day music festival held in Gothenburg, Sweden, during August that plays host to a variety of popular music artists mainly from the rock, electronic and hip-hop genres, and serving fully vegetarian food offerings.

I was given the honour of designing the entire merchandise range for the 2019 festival which featured an absolutely stellar lineup including the likes of Solange, James Blake, The Cure, Blood Orange, Jon Hopkins, Erykah Badu, Khruangbin, Maribou State, and much more!...

With a loose brief to subtly communicate the festival’s core values of sustainability and generally looking after mother earth; I went for a slightly brutalist, internet inspired aesthetic overall - lots of warped text and patterns, some melting globes and clever slogan texts to get this idea across vaguely in a way that wouldn’t detract from its artistic appeal and still give it a streetwear edge that feels truly unique to their messaging.
