SpokaneUX Meetup Logo Revision

This design challenge was a condition of my Dribbble drafting by the SpokaneUX Meetup organizer Brent Schneider. Game on!

My process always starts offline in my dot-grid journal. I made a list of attributes connected with SpokaneUX to get ideas flowing and then went to some rough sketching. The idea of using WA State was one of my first couple sketches because of the way the Puget Sound resembles a counter. It took a number of iterations to not have "UX" read like "JX".

I originally wanted the "X" to double as a demarcation of the physical location of Spokane but that idea was sacrificed in favor of readability and proper kerning.
