Howe: A Jobs Board Experiment

My friend Ryan Tracey and I built a jobs board as an experiment in the Summer of 2018.

Ryan developed it. I designed it.

The MVP was a web scraper that pulled in newly listed jobs from varies job sites. Simple enough.

The world of Job Boards is a competitive market, so we know that if we wanted a chance of it being worth continued time, effort and energy – we would have to stand out.

We had a few ideas to stand out and earn market share, but they all required significant resources to produce. This was high enough of a barrier that we softly killed the experiment after 3 months.

That's the beauty of experiments – it's healthy to try things out because you never know what'll happen.
