Seattle City Flag Design

My final idea for a Seattle city flag redesign. The symbolism is as follows:

1. A green emerald for Seattle's nickname "The Emerald City".
- the 7 sections within the emerald stand for the 7 hills of Seattle (Yesler, Denny, Capitol, Queen Anne, First, Cherry & Beacon)

2. Dark blue triangle in the upper left is for the Puget Sound to the East, while the opposite triangle is for Lake Washington to the West.

3. The salmon colored stripe is a symbol for the indigenous tribes of the Duwamish & Suquamish. Salmon are a tangible and spiritual source of sustenance for the people of the region for the last 4,000 years.

4. The diagonal white stripe is for Mt. Rainier which looms over Seattle's skyline.
