Hong Kong Tea Restaurants

Despite how much Hong Kong has been modernised over the years, the traditional Hong Kong tea restaurants remain a strong position in Hong Kong's food industry and in Hong Kongers' hearts. This leaflet celebrates the 70s and 80s Hong Kong tea restaurants unique style that could be commonly seen in the street of Hong Kong till this day. The handwritten receipts stood out to me. It created a style of hand-lettering, which shows the swiftness and hardworking spirit of Hong Kong's working class. The Chinese "Weibei bo" brush typography is also used significantly in the 70s and 80s of Hong Kong. This leaflet purpose is to promote an exhibition of "Hong Kong Tea Restaurants" held in Tai Kwun Museum and to celebrate this long-standing culture.
