Beresheet is a technological demonstrator of a small robotic lunar lander meant to promote Israeli students to engage in careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The lander was previously known as Sparrow, and was officially named Beresheet (Hebrew: בְּרֵאשִׁית, "Genesis") It has a mass of 150 kg (330 lb), but when fuelled at launch it was 585 kg (1,290 lb).

Mar 1, 2019 - The Beresheet spacecraft successfully carried out a key manoeuvre Thursday night, following a worrisome computer reboot.
