Working area for "Autumn Cardinal"
I drew about half a dozen "key" leaves in Illustrator, and then copy+pasted a kabillion of them in the lower green field. Sort of like a virtual cup that I could go to and pick up another leaf and before turning, twisting, re-sizing, and placing by hand. And yes, I placed each leaf in this (and the other 3 seasons) by hand. And yes, I might be a little obsessively insane. I made the field green so I could easily see my white leaves as well.
To the left of the tool palette is my overprint key. Sometimes it's accurate, sometimes it's not. Things always change on press when you screenprint, especially by hand.
