A while back I tackled the problem of clothing returns at an e-commerce company. We launched a new size recommendation feature and reduced returns by 86%
Although shopping for clothing on that site has been easier, I still struggle to find the right footwear size most of the time. Each model of shoe fit differently and I spend a lot of time searching online of sneakerheads' advice on sizing. Are these true to size? Should I size up if I have wide feet?
Here's a concept for finding your footwear size using AR measurement. Instead of measuring your foot with a ruler and referring to a footwear sizing chart, let the app do it for you. It recommends you the best fit for each shoe.
