Been way too long since I actually designed something. Have spent the little spare time baseball blogging.

This graph breaks down many advanced metrics into two simple bars. They'll show how many runs above average the catcher was worth with his offense (blue) and with his defense (green).

Jim Sundberg actually provided negative value on offense, but damn... that defense was special.

(And no. Piazza wasn't actually a league average catcher. He just gets awarded some value for merely being a catcher.)
