Chocolate a la Taza

These are a series of illustrations I did based on my travels through Spain. I've created three illustrations per city visited.

City 4: Oviedo

Oviedo has given me the perfect excuse to continue loving my obsessions: mountains? check! cider? check! hot coco? check! Before I would just shrug and say I couldn’t explain why I loved these so much. Now I can say that it runs in my blood. (Thanks great grandma!) But in all seriousness the way that they serve hot coco in Oviedo is one I’ve never seen before. It’s more of a chocolate soup! Extremely thick and oh so delicious, even a small cup of the stuff will fill you up instantly. Typically Chocolate a la Taza is served with churros (as seen in the doodle) but when I had mine I went all out and got a chocolate covered palmera cookie. For the first time in my life I couldn’t finish my chocolate treats. Now that’s saying something!
