The Met Breuer.

We all know The Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art) in New York, the largest museum of art in America, but have you ever heard of The Met Breuer?

Located in the Upper East Side, The Met Breuer is part of The Met family that aims to offer a singular experience of modern and contemporary art. Named after (and designed by) the great Hungarian architect Marcel Breuer, the building features a towering granite facade. Previously occupied by the Whitney Museum, the building's lobby is considered iconic for its rows upon rows of moonlike shades.

A long-awaited exhibition entitled "Odyssey: Jack Whitten Sculpture 1963-2017" is currently on display at The Met Breuer until December 2, 2018. Jack Whitten is an American painter and sculptor who was awarded a National Medal of Arts in 2016. The exhibition features sculptures he made over the past 50 years as well as paintings from his Black Monolith series honoring African American figures. For a total immersive experience, have a drink at Flora Bar, a classy and marvelous dining room on the bottom floor of the building.
