R — Redshift

R - Redshift. When an object moves away from us, its light waves are stretched into longer wavelengths shifting to the red end of the spectrum. This redshift in the cosmos is due to the expansion of the universe - where there is a correlation between increasing redshifts and the increasing distance of galaxies.
