A Restaurant Waiter's Tablet

This is a wireframe from a project that tried to make it easier and quicker to take orders from the bar and restaurant. It also tied in to the kitchen and tables so the waiter could see what was happening. The waiter knew where the food was in the process, if his table needed drinks, etc. The waiter could also take payments, split checks, etc.

These types of apps are common at many restaurants, but they are usually found on the table and the user does most the work.

This system tried to allow the waiter to still serve the customer (and still get tipped well), but it also included a table tablet that allowed customers to alert the waiter when they needed more diet soda or they were ready for their check.

This system was pre-loaded on actual tablets and actually carried by the waiter. They didn't need to go to an ordering station to do anything and it came with an apron that held the tablet when they needed to be hands free.

It was a fun project, but sadly, it was never fully implemented by the client.
