Recently I had an opportunity to design for an AR app.
The pressure gauge shows the pressure applied when you are using the Apple pen or your finger for a particular action. This is one of the directions I am exploring.
While designing for Augmented Reality, you have no control over the environment. Which means your interface has to stand-out against any kind of backdrop, needs to have enough contrast and visual affordances.
See attached versions of the same element with different backgrounds - one tailored to enhances it, and other is edge-case test and worst-case scenario.
