GPalmer Muckle Flugga

A piece of calligraphy commissioned by a client with Scottish heritage, Muckle Flugga is a small rocky island in the far north of the British Isles. This piece is based on the ancient half-uncial form of writing that was used in illuminated manuscripts such as the Lindisfarne Gospels. This form of writing is created using a broad nib set at a 20 degree angle and was recreated using taped pencils, then finished in Illustrator and Photoshop.
