Vodka

Dmitry Mendeleev's doctoral thesis was called "On the Combinations of Water with Alcohol". Since then there is a myth that vodka (40% solution of alcohol in water) was invended by Mendeleev, though this drink was first mentioned as early as in the first half of 16 century.
