Type Design

The Chicha is an ancestral drink that makes part of the cultural heritage, not only of Colombia, but also of all the Latin American countries. Through this project I wanted to highlight the importance of the beverage by developing limited edition collection pieces, in order to invite both local and foreign to approach the Latin American indigenous culture. Its applications were a catalog with recipes, history of the beverage and packaging design.

In order to develop an autochthonous aesthetics, that evoke the craft character of the Chicha, I develop a new and unique typography with the full alphabet named: Chicha. Where its irregular and powerful strokes transmitted the cultural wealth of the natives, making the message more forceful in each of the pieces.
