National Library Web Portal Concept

National libraries are the caretakers and stewards of a country's national heritage. Unfortunately the holdings of these large libraries are often siloed by content type due to the different tools or platforms that are used by librarians and archivists to collect and manage different media.

In this concept for the "National Library of Atlantis" I wanted to create a cohesive entry point into Atlantis's digital and digitized heritage, ranging from web archives, to ebooks, television and beyond. Based on my experiences as a reference librarian and through user research I wanted to design a system that enabled a variety of ways to search, sort and filter information: by theme, media type, time period and entity.
