Elms Mansion

Elms Mansion. 3029 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Built in 1869.

This Italianate-style mansion was built in 1969 for Watson Van Benthuysen II, an officer in the Confederate Army and relative of Jefferson Davis. During the period of 1831 until the end of WWII, the Elms mansion served as a German Consulate. The house is now used as a special events and weddings venue.
