Fractura

The protoype was made from a 100% recycled LTTP (low temp thermoplastic) called EcoFit, coming in flat sheets measuring 600mm x 900mm 9 casts care able to be CNC cut. In actual production die cuts would be the most suitable way of production in high numbers. The design was intended to be comfortable, waterproof, lightweight and non-intrusive. The cast is able to withstand normal water temperatures produced in the home, the shaped design allows for ample movement of the thumb and finger to allow gripping such as pens, the plastic is lightweight due to the nature of the material and the smooth plastic combined with padding provides comfort. The holes allow for ventilation and provide air flow increasing hygiene whilst also providing a carefully created interface as a guide for wrapping the cast.
