Daily Typography: Day 01

I'm excited to start sharing my design work again, and I thought I'd begin with something I truly enjoy: typography. To ease into posting daily, I've decided to start a fun project where I'll showcase a new typeface and a small design each day.

Join me as we kick off Typography Daily (30) with this extraordinary typeface that bridges worlds and eras.

Introducing Abalos by Off Type, a typeface that captures the spirit of exploration and futuristic design. Abalos is described as serene, spacey, and sleek—perfectly embodying a forward-facing, retro-futuristic aesthetic.

Inspired by humanity's next big adventure, Mars exploration, Abalos takes its name from one of the planet's sand dunes. Its letterforms draw from the undulating desert waves of Middle Eastern landscapes, incorporating elegant cursive features and subtle Arabic references.

It uniquely blends the past with a speculative future. By intertwining the word "Mantoka" with the typeface, a narrative unfolds—a sense of intrigue and mystery, suggesting uncharted territories and hidden wonders waiting to be discovered.
